Learn something in 10 minutes a day: Pick one topic or language; Sign up free, with just an email; Practice 10 minutes every day; Skip any "free" course that wants a card
  1. Khan Academy

A nonprofit with free lessons in math, science, reading, money skills and more, for any age. No ads and no paid plan. Go to khanacademy.org.

  2. Duolingo for languages

Duolingo's language courses are free with ads. Super Duolingo is an optional paid plan that removes ads; you don't need it to learn.

  3. Free computer lessons

LearnFree.org (called GCFGlobal until 2026, run by a nonprofit) has free step-by-step lessons on computer basics, email, the internet and staying safe online. Old GCFGlobal links now go to LearnFree.org.

  4. Online courses: free vs certificate

Many course websites let you try part of a course free, but the full course or a certificate often costs money. Check what's included before you sign up, and see whether your library offers free course access.

  5. Watch for upsells

โš ๏ธ Careful: If a "free" course asks for your card, it's usually a free trial that turns into a paid plan. Read when you'll be charged, or skip it. Real free programs never ask for your card or bank details to give you something free, never pressure you with a countdown, and never come from a random text, pop-up or caller. Go to the official website yourself instead of tapping a link.

The real addresses are khanacademy.org, learnfree.org, duolingo.com. Type it yourself or use the buttons above. Fake sites use names like khan-academy-certificate.com, free-course-unlock.net (examples only, do not visit). A real free program never asks for your card or bank details to โ€œunlockโ€ it.

GCFGlobal is now LearnFree.org (renamed in 2026). Old GCFGlobal links still forward there.

Why we trust this: Costs come from each site's own help pages, checked October 2026. We left out course sites whose free options we couldn't confirm.

๐ŸŽ‰ All done! Pick one thing to learn and spend 10 minutes a day on it. It's free.
