Why "It's in English"?
Because "it's all Greek to me" shouldn't be how anyone feels about the tech they use every day.
What this site is
It's in English is a free, friendly place to understand everyday technology: the stuff on your phone, your home Wi-Fi, the AI tools everyone's talking about, and how to keep yourself, your family and your business safe online.
Every explainer starts with the short version, uses everyday comparisons instead of jargon, and ends with a few simple things you can actually do. Every tech word we use is either explained on the spot or in the glossary. And our mini-games let you practice spotting scams and building strong passwords without any real-world risk.
Who it's for
Families
Parents, kids and grandparents who want straight answers.
Grandparents
Anyone who wants the basics without a lecture, or without feeling silly asking.
The curious
Anyone who's ever nodded along and wondered what it meant.
Who's behind it
It's in English is a community project from Thrive Technology Solutions, an IT services company in Orange County, California. We spend our days helping people with exactly these questions and wanted a place to share the answers freely. There's no sign-up, no ads, no cookies and no sales pitch here.
Privacy, ads & affiliate links
Visitor counts: we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counter, so we know which pages and tools people find useful. It counts page visits and a few button taps (like "game started", "prompt copied" or "video played") anonymously, with no cookies, no tracking across sites and no personal information. It never receives anything you type, your answers, your passwords or your lists. If a blocker stops it, the site works exactly the same. See GoatCounter's privacy policy.
Affiliate links: some deal links on our Deals/Free page are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. See our affiliate disclosure.
The site runs no ad scripts. Videos only load from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) when you tap play. If you use a game's "Save for later" (or just play), your progress and best scores are stored only in your own browser's local storage. They never reach us, and you can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. We may add clearly labeled advertising or affiliate links (for example on our Deals/Free page) in future to help keep the site free. If we do, those ad and affiliate partners may use cookies or similar technology, and we'll update this note. Affiliate links never change what we recommend.
A quick note
These guides are general information to help you understand technology. They aren't a substitute for advice about your specific situation. If you think an account has been compromised, contact the company directly using a phone number or website you already trust.
